Choc Beet Blueberry Smoothie
Right now in my life, nothing beats a big, cold, nutrient-packed smoothie for brekkie, lunch, dinner, a snack… whenever! They are a multi-purpose meal that is also convenient on the go and one of the best bits? Hardly any dishes to do afterwards!
Hmm... I want a smoothie now after writing that paragraph.
This recipe is nothing fancy. I have not re-written the book on this one but I wanted to share it as a reminder that smoothies don’t have to be full of ambiguous ingredients that you have to scour 5 health food stores to find.
Keep it simple. Get the carbs, fats and proteins in there and off you go!
Also, it's kid and fussy eater approved!
Choc Beet Blueberry Smoothie
Makes 1 big yummy smoothie
GF, DF, vegan, paleo, RSF
Prep time + tidy up: 5 mins
Cook time: 30 secs
Ingredients:
1 banana – I like to use them more on the green side so they are less sweet but it’s up to you
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 cup milk – whatever is your preferred choice. I used coconut milk.
1 tbsp Naked Paleo Cacao + Beetroot Mylk Infusion latte powder
1 tbsp protein powder – I used hemp and I currently love Saint Hemp
1 tbsp chia seeds
Method:
Pop everything in a high-speed blender or Nutri-bullet and blend until smooth.
Top with cacao nibs and hemp seeds and enjoy. YUM!
Tip: I like to freeze leftovers into icy poles or freeze in silicone ice cube trays and reblend once frozen to make a sorbet dessert later.
