Before my passion for all things health and wellness, came my obsession with beauty products.
Most often I would choose products based on cute packaging or wonder claims made in ‘Cosmo’ but over the years, as my passion for natural health grew and I learned more, the number of products in my bathroom cabinet has decreased along with the list of the ingredients on the back of the pretty packaging.
I get compliments on my skin quite often and I’m not saying that to boast. I’m saying it because I am proud.
I didn’t always have great skin even though my usual response now is to credit the lack of sunshine growing up in Ireland, but really, it’s down to good food and no more harsh cleansers, creams or lotions on my face or body.
I never had the worst skin as a teenager, but I did get pimples regularly. I classified my skin as ‘acne-prone’ or ‘combination’ when really, in hindsight, I just needed to cut out all the sugar I was eating and stop using harsh cleansers that removed all the natural oils.
3 years ago, I had enough. I wouldn’t go anywhere without makeup on – don’t get me wrong, I still love makeup – even 5.30am gym classes. I’d already cleaned up my food, so I decided to focus next on my skincare, took the plunge and tried an oil cleanser.
My life was changed.
I was immediately obsessed with the feeling of my skin. It would feel soft and moisturised AFTER cleansing. What???!! I used to always rush to moisturise because it felt so tight but not anymore.
I do love switching products up every now and again but if something really works for me I will stick with it and at the moment that product is The Clean Skin Movement Cleansing Balm.
It’s simple, it’s pretty, it’s affordable and IT WORKS! You don’t often get to say all those things in one sentence when it comes to cleansers, but this guy ticks all the boxes.
